Monkee Radio

Be Featured!

Monkee Radio is our little way to give exposure to upcoming and unsigned artists. We would love to give your band a little platform to show off your music. We aim to update the songs monthly, so to be considered for next month please email enquiries@monkeegenes.com and give links to videos and tracks. We will listen to every single one and choose our favourite every month. All genres considered!

Patawawa

"Out of the quiet town of Matlock come Patawawa - a Nu-Disco trio that blends beats to pump blood, glittered guitar riffs and basslines that bite. The three-piece have crafted a sound that stays true to the neon roots of funk and disco, but dress it with a cheekyness that could only have come out of Derbyshire.

Hailed as Matlock's hottest new export, their brand of Nu-Disco and Funk is bound to get you grooving on the dance floor. Staunch support from BBC DJ, Dean Jackson, has seen them rise to the list of most played bands on BBC Introducing East Midlands in 2015 and open for Y-Not Festival last summer.

2015 also saw Patawawa release a string of hits including Back to Life (a collaboration with upcoming French producer, Roman Kouder) and summertime pop hit, Red and White. They were featured as The Guardian's Band of the Week and mentioned in several "Best of" lists of 2015.

An EP is now in the works for release in mid-2016 and not ones to disappoint, Patawawa will deliver what their fans have come to expect from them, an unbeatable tracklist of ebullient melody and memorable lyrics, served with a hearty helping of dirty disco-funk."
