1) What is the difference between a silhouette and a skinny?
Both have the same cut on the waistband, but the silhouette has a narrorwer cut on the leg.
2) What is the difference between a chino fit and a slim fit?
Our chino fit is more wider at the thighs and narrow at the calves. The slim fit has a secure mid rise and straight legs, slightly wider than the classic skinny.
3) What is the difference between a Monroe fit and a Silhouette fit?
Monroe is a cropped length skinny jean, the silhouette is available in cropped length as well as long length. Please check the product pages for full details.
4) What is the difference between sateen and light sateen?
Sateen is a slightly thicker and heavier fabric developed specifically for the colder months. Light weight sateen is a thinner and lighter weight fabric perfect for the warmer months.
5) What size should I get?

6) How long will my order take?
Postage for mainland UK is via a courier service, and will usually be despatched next working day on a 24 hours service. So in most cases your new jeans will be with you 2-5 working days (some stock is held offsite, this may take up to ten days, apologies about this) Your order history will display it's status. We do not despatch on Saturdays or Sundays.
If you are in Northern Ireland, offshore UK or in the highlands your order will be posted via Royal Mail. For these orders please allow 3-6 days for delivery.
We do not despatch on weekends.
Overseas orders are shipped via Royal Mail and usually take between 6 and 14 working days depending on your location.Orders may take longer to process in busy periods.
7) How do I return an item?
You will receive a returns sheet with every order detailing how to do this.
8) Can I get my order tomorrow?
We are a small company and currently do not have the resources to offer express despatch services. However in some cases we may be able to make it happen for you- call us on +44(0)1629828254 if you need an urgent despatch.
9) Do you do Saturday delivery?
As number 8), please call us, we might be able to accommodate your request.
10) How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is set at a flat rate of £5 per consignment for UK. European and Worldwide customers will be calculated by weight.
11) My order status is ‘new’
This means your order has been received, and is yet to be looked at.
12) My order status is ‘confirmed’
This means your payment has been confirmed.
13) My order status is ‘paid’
This means your order has been sent to the warehouse for picking.
This means your order has been collected by our couriers is on its way out to you.
15) My order status is ‘completed’
This means your order is done and we hope you love your new jeans!
16) My order status is ‘refunded’
This means we have received your return and you should see your refund back in your account shortly.
17) My order status is ‘deleted’
This usually means that no payment came through relating to the order. If you believe this shouldn’t be the case, check your bank account and call us on +44(0)1629828254.
18) Will you be restocking flares / kids jeans?
Currently no plans for kids jeans. The old flare is unlikely to return soon, but we have the All Niter style at the moment which is similar. It looks great too! If you would like to see the return of any thing else please email email@example.com and let us know.
19) You don’t make my size, can I make a special order?
Sorry, but this is something we cannot do.
20) What is the fabric composition of the jeans?
It varies: please check each individual product page for this information. If it’s not there, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
21) What is the waistband patch made of?
As standard, all Monkee Genes ship with a vegan friendly patch. No leather is used. It is proudly made of coated recycled card. It can also be removed from your jeans!
22) How are payments handled?
Payments that are made on monkeegenes.com are currently handled by Paypal. PayPal handles payments using the high security password protected PayPal payment system.
23) Where is Monkee Genes based?
Our operation is split, the warehousing is in Glasgow. The Monkee Genes HQ is based in in the small village of Darley Dale, Derbyshire, England. We are situated far from the hustle, bustle and noise of the big cities: the Monkee team are tucked away into a green (white at winter) corner of the Peak District.
Rolling hills, wild animals, flowing streams, village pubs: we’re buried in the English countryside and proud of it x x x
